About XAU Ticker
A precious-metals price board that shows its working. We publish gold and silver rates in the units people actually use — rupees per 10 grams, euros per troy ounce, pesos per gram — and we publish the formula that produced them.
Why this exists
Most rate sites give you a number and no way to check it. Where did the price come from? Does it include import duty? Is GST in there or not? How old is it? Without those answers a rate is just a number on a screen, and you cannot tell whether the gap against your jeweller's counter is normal or not.
So XAU Ticker does the opposite. Our methodology page gives the complete derivation — the source feed, the currency reference, the duty rate, the premium, the purity ratios — in enough detail to reproduce our figures with a calculator. When we cannot know something, we say so rather than estimating quietly.
What it does
- Live rate board — gold and silver spot, with rupee, euro and peso conversions side by side.
- Charts — intraday from our own observations, longer ranges from published daily closes.
- Jewellery calculator — value a piece by weight and purity, with making charges and GST applied the way an invoice actually applies them.
- Price alerts — evaluated in your own browser. No account, and nothing about them reaches our server.
- Three languages — English, Español and हिन्दी, each with its own quoting convention rather than a translated label on the same number.
Independence
We are not owned by, funded by, or affiliated with any bullion dealer, jeweller, exchange, broker or refiner. Nobody pays to appear on the rate board, and no dealer can influence a published figure. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed here prominently and before the fact.
How it is funded
The site is free, carries no advertising, and sells no data today. It is small enough that running it costs very little. If we later add advertising or a paid tier, we will say so on this page, in the privacy policy, and — for anything that sets a cookie — through a consent request before it loads.
The rules we hold ourselves to
- Never present a stale price as a live one. The site labels itself LIVE, DELAYED or NO DATA, and the label follows the data rather than the marketing.
- Never invent a number to fill a gap. If our record does not cover a chart range or a statistic, it shows as incomplete instead of being interpolated.
- Publish the formula, not just the result. Every constant in the derivation is on the methodology page with the date it was last checked.
- Say what we cannot do. The methodology page carries an explicit limitations section, including the fact that our city figures are modelled rather than surveyed.
- Correct things openly. Report an error and we will check it and fix it.
